i just had my xbox soft modded by a friend. i installed a 40gb drive intially. i want to eventually upgrade to a larger drive. is it possible to take out the hard drive in my xbox and clone it to a new drive and then install that?

because its a softmod, its more complicated then that. the harddrive you put in has to be locked to the xbox your putting it in, before you can put it in. with a tsop flashed xbox, it would be as simple as what you described. since you already have a 40 gig in there, its obvious your friend knows what he's doing so either have him solder the 2 spots on your motherboard and flash your tosp, or have him upgrade it for you.
