Unpatchable for the hardware already out there... which is plenty. wink.gif
I think MS need to do a hardware change to stop this hack.

They said the same about PS3.. but it got patched quickly.

Nah, it took them months to patch the ps3. MS are usually super quick off the mark when it comes to stuff like this.

Holy crap Holy crap Holy crap! All systems running freestyledash??? Is this what I'm reading?

According to GliGli, this particular hack does not work for Xenons due to a hardware change made during Zephyr which made this particular hack possible. (It does work for Falcons, but GliGli doesn't have one, so there's no package available.) It hasn't been made explicitly clear, but it appears it will never work for Xenons. I'm hoping to get explicit confirmation on that.

You think they will release a newb friendly guide/mod chip to make this easier?

They have. As noob friendly as it can be.

TX will release a tailored mod too but you have to solder.

The 3.55 fw came out December 7, 2010.
The 3.56 fw that removed all the good stuff came out January 26, 2011.

The hack uses the HANA chip found in HDMI consoles. The Xenon has an ANA chip. So more than likely the hack will never support a Xenon.

I may have exagrated. 3.60 did take a while though which is a lot more secure than 3.56. If i remember correctly the king kong and smc exploits where patched very quickly. Thats not to say it will be this time around if what im reading is true.

Anyway, back on topic: Woohoo! Homebrew on my slim!

Why would you bother with a Xenon even if they were updateable, the boards are too old now and unreliable. Time to buy a slim, download the update to a usb stick, buy the dev board for $18 (someone will probably try to sell them for way overpriced. The chip is dirtcheap, the board simple to make so don't get scammed. Buy a slim and i think you will see a lot more interest in homebrew now that there are zillions of 360's that can be jtagged

Xenon or Opus is not supported (and won't be) so it doesnt make a difference. if you have the old 203W power supply you probably have the Xenon. If you have the 175W psu then you prob have Falcon which is not supported (yet)

You'll know right away when you open it up and look at the scaler chip. If its a HANA you have an Opus if its an ANA you have a Xenon, and who knows if the this hack will ever support an Opus either.

Zephyrs had a 203w power supply as well.

EDiT: Orka you beat me too it.
Anyways to elaborate a little more, If I remember correctly an OPUS board was basically a Zephyr (MY BAD) Falcon board minus the HDMI port. It had HANA scaler chip and all, so technically it could be supported
