I am a longtime modder, and I usually use the wonderful cheapmods with a homemade programmer with greenprog v0.7, well I cannot get the SST's anymore and have picked up a batch of DOUX2's with the blue PCB. I only use these chips on v1.6(cool.gif's and for some reason when I flashed a chip today it started frag'ing on reboot. I replaced it with another chip from the batch and everything is ok, but now I have a badly flashed chip, and neither bank 0(v1.0-1.5) or bank 1(v1.6(cool.gif) will boot on any console. How can I reflash this from my PC? Can I make a homemade programmer like I did for my cheapmods? Any help would me great.

Thanks

I might be mistaken, but I think you can use and Xecuter 2.X flasher to fix the chips.

i think I read that on the boards a few months back. I don't know how the programmers work exactly so I can't help too much.

just my thoughts,

Why use a programmer, just hot swap them (as a long time modderr you should have known this blink.gif ...Just Joking tongue.gif )

Wire BT on chip to Pin 9 on the chip so the chip is always On, then Hot Swap and Flash the bad Chip.

I thought you would be able to flash these with an X2 programmer as they have the same flash rom but unfortunately I have not been successful in using the X2 with the Duo chips so it probably won't work.
It is way easier to hot swap a bad flash.

Just to double-check one thing with you ModdingManiac... if you refer to the official DuoX install diagram:(http://www.duomodchip.com/english/install/.../duox2_v1.0.jpg

Would Pin 9 refer to the 'G' connection on the Xbox LPC in the official install diagram?

Thanks

Pin 9 is indeed the G point . 2 up from the D0.
Connecting this sticks 3v3 on the BT so enabling the chip.

Yeah Pin 9 is Pin "G" as labeled by the DuoX team. I'm used to referring them as #'s.

Thanks again for all your help, I have reflashed my bad flashed chip with the hotswap, BUT my original questions still remains? Is it NOT possible to flash these from a PC? I have a batch of 50 of these, and I want to reflash BANK 0 and 1 so it will work on v1.6 as well, as a backup flash, so this won't happen in the first place... and hot swapping 50 chips 2x each( to flash each bank) is a LOT of flashing and requires the use of my xbox ( which I use too often to leave hooked up as a flasher....) I am looking for ANY method preferrably a HOMEMADE solution ( as I am quite a hobbist and enjoy build the stuff myself, and understanding how it works). Again thanks for all the help, and if there is no PC flasher.. would it be that hard to make one? maybe just make a special flash program and use an X2 Programmer? OR maybe my Cheapmod programmer?

Its still pretty easy and you don't need a programmer. 1st install the chip on the 1.6 Xbox and set it to Bank 1 and boot the Xbox to evox, once its booted move the switch to Bank 0 and flash the chip. You should now have 2 banks with a 1.6 Bios.

For xboxes 1.0-1.5 its the same thing. 1st install the chip on the 1.0-1.5 Xbox and set it to Bank 0 this time and boot the Xbox to evox, once its booted move the switch to Bank 1 and flash the chip with a 1.0-1.5 bios. You should now have 2 banks with a 1.0-1.5 Bios.

As far as the Xecuter programmer, I beleive it doesn't work for the Duo's (not 100% sure)

Thanks for clearing that up fellas! Do you guys know if a cheapmod programmer has 3.3v on that pin? Just wondering if strapping BT to that pin would work... but then again I think the entire LPC layout is different between a DuoX and a cheapmod, so it probably wouldn't matter anyway.
