Hello !
I have an XBox with a modchip inside. Now the Modchip is damaged.
I thake the chip out of my XBox and now i want make a TSOP-Flash.
I cant found the original Harddisk, i have a bigger one inside.
The XBox is now Original (only the HD is bigger) and i can start the box
but the Dashboard don't start and a Message "Your XBox use service" appears.
How can i flash the TSOP on Board now ? I cant load a game, i cant load a savegame and i cant use the raincoat ! I think its only because my HD is bigger.
Can i install now an Aladdin-Chip, boot with Evox-CD and flash the Onboard-TSOP so i can uninstall my Aladdin after that and boot with the modified TSOP on Board ?

okey this is what your going to have to do since your eeprom is looking for the number of the hdd and giving the wrong one. (tsop is active again)

i will need to get a modchip (bypass the unmodded tsop) that will boot to the same name of the dashboard u were using initially. for example
if u are using evoX, your mod chip will have to boot evoxdash.xbe.
same with ava and anything else. ( most of these settings can be changed within the bios.

now u also have to know what kind of TSOP u have, winbonds can only be successfullt flashed with raincoat by telnet. and any other. from what i see. work great using the evoX flash utility.

also when u flash the bios. (for example evoX8+) u want to edit it to make sure its booting the correct dashboard as well as u did with the mod chip.

1,2,3 flash. shut off, restart. and there i go. a flashed tsop box that works.

there are articles on how to flash in the tutorial section as well. be sure to enable all soldiering points correctly.

i had trouble with one winbond and i used evox ONLY to see if it was soldierd CORRECTLY. if it doesnt detect it, even with the updated flash codes. then resoldier points

good luck tongue.gif

Sorry i think u dont understand what i mean !
I want to make a TSOP-Flash ! Normaly i do the TSOP-Flash with the James Bond 007-Method. I load the special gamesave on the Original-Harddisk, load the Game and then i can make a Telnet-Connection to the XBox and flash the TSOP with Raincoat.
But now the Harddisk is not the Original-Thing ! It was a Mod-Chip in this Box before. Its a bigger one, and with the Original MS Bios i cant start a Game or go to the Dashboard because the HD isnt locked. And then i cant load the savegame and start the game !
My question is now: Can i make a TSOP-Flash (To the Original TSOP on Board) when i take a Mod-Chip (Aladdin or SmartXX), boot with Evox Bios or else, boot to Original Dashboard, save the special Savegame, load the Game and do the same (flash the onboard TSOP over Telnet with Raincoat) witch i can do on a normal XBox with Original-HD ? I believe it doesent work.
Have you a better idea to flash the onboard TSOP on an XBOX with bigger HD inside ?
Can i use ConfixMagic to lock the bigger HD first and then take out the Mod-Chip and boot with Original-Bios and make all again with gamesave, game and raincoat ?

If you have another chip you can just lock your HD and it will act like normal again. Then you can do the TSOP flash (boot normal MS bios). This is assuming you are getting the error 5 message and you have backed up all your original files to your big drive.

Holy crap that is so wrong.

EEPROM holds the lock code...which can open any HD (no matter the SN) if the HD was locked on thet box. You also can't just boot from a LPC mod and expect to TSOP flash...LPC bypasses the TSOP so you can't even access it...unless you have a 1.0 with special bios loaded to the chip.

Many thanks ! Thats it what i mean ! I tried to boot with SmartXX-Chip and IND-5003 Bios. Then i can load the ConfixMagic-CD. But HDLock in ConfixMagic shows me the message "HD doesnt support this feature" or something like that.
Can i try with another HD ? Must the partitions on this HD exact the same witch are on the Original-HD ? All the Files for Original-MS-Dashboard i can copy to C ! This is not a problem !

Now hold up. your telling me the eeprom can open any locked hard drive regardless of the sn. hmmm. i dont believe that is coorect since u cant just put any retail xbox hdd in an xbox and expect it to unlock it and load the dash. IT WOUNT! . the eeprom has the password for the specific hd. and from what i believe "and i could be wrong" every hdd from m$ retail are all different.

of course the eeprom can be changed for the specific hard disk u have. but then that just conflicts with taking out another xbox hdd and putting it in another and seeing an error.

and from what u say u cant expect to flash the tsop from a sge. why not? i have modded over 50x boxes using the tsop method................i can be confusing sometimes. but i do understand fully how the xbox tsop and eeprom works

*sigh* but if we all new everything then there wouldnt be need for questions....... tongue.gif

The HD SN has nothing to do with the locking of the drive (sort of). If the HD is locked with the key in the EEPROM then that box can open it. I can stick 100 unlocked drives in my box and lock them all and they will still work in my box even though they all have different serial numbers. EDIT: And the reason he can't boot his new hD is the fact that its not locked...not because it has a different SN than his original.

You can't stick a LPC chip and and just boot up evox or raincoat and flash the TSOP (which is what you suggested). I never said anything about using a save game explot (this is what I use all the time).

Mister:
Your HD doesn't support locking. If you want to TSOP flash you are now limited to getting the orignal HD, getting a 29 wire chip, or skip it and get another modchip.

lets see, I don't want to jump on any toes here but james knows what he is talking about.

On the issue with configmagic not working it could fall under two things.
1. James already went over which is your harddrive can not be locked.
2. Is that configmagic does not work on version 1.6. If you have a 1.6 xbox there is no TSOP for you to flash.

If you have smartxx you can use the HDD locking function to lock a version 1.6 but there is no TSOP on a 1.6 so get used to the smartxx being in the system.

Actually there is a configmagic for 1.6 boxes now. It only runs on 1.6 though. But you are correct...I never asked if it was a 1.6...which can't be TSOPed. But he said the configmagic said his HD didn't support locking...which is different than not working at all.
