I have a X3 chip in a late model 2003 xbox with a so-so up to date flash version and

I have scanned the forum and read the tutorials and checked my switches and been somewhat thorough

1. I am having problems with flashing my chip with a current bios 3294<---im not sure.....its late and im tired through http

2. I have a screen on my xbox that displays 3.0.1 and when I http into the box from my computer I get 3.0.0 and then........

3. When I try to load my newest flash bios I get

"The file uploaded was not 262144, 524288 or 1048576 bytes. Refusing to flash."
the xbox states the file size is illegal or too big and yadda yadda whatever FAIL!

I have the LCD panel and the the buttons are set as
1 off so the color is red (protection)
2 and 3 blue ( they correspond with 1&2 due to the first being protection)
4 and 5 not on (they correspond with 3&4 due to the first being protection)

I over simplify this in case someone returns an easy softball answer but.....

Can I

1. Flash 3.0.3 to my xbox.............
and will this allow me to flash with http to my xbox

I have a general idea of dip switches but oversimplifying the answer helps
Will this help or does it not matter.

Yes you can flash using flashbios 3.0.3 via network. You are extracting the bios before you flash it right?

Thta what I think it is. You're attempting to flash the .rar. You need to extract and flash the .bin.

No need for 3.03, it's not a 1.6b system.

Yea... Actually been seeing alot of that lately and considering the message he's getting, most likely that's the problem.

first off there is a difference between the flashbios and the bios...your chip should already have the flashbios loaded and there is really no need to update it...both of these files when downloaded come in a extension of .rar...meaning they are compressed files and need to uncompressed to work properly...since your box was manufactured in 2003, more than likely it is a 1.3 or 1.4 version...merely uncompress the bios file and you will see two version of the same file, do not use the 16plus version....you really need to do some reading up on this procedure to make sure you are comfortable with what you are doing....it is not difficult, but most people really screw there boxes up because they just don't take the time to read...just take a quick look at the threads here and you will see what I mean...
