After reading about people lifting pads on this chip here is a mini picture guide to the chip. Hope it helps someone.White DuoX 2
Bank 0 is Linux Cromwell Bios. Flash using Eurasia
Bank 1 is Cromwell Flashbios 3.03 (Can sometimes cause Blank Screen on a 1.6 for 20 or so reboots). Flash using Bios Disc as here http://www.team-xecuter.com/flashbios/cd.htm
Bios Size 512K each bankBlue DuoX 2
Bank 0 is X2 (4979 usually) Suitable for V1 to V1.5 Xbox. Re-Flash using Evoxdash
Bank 1 is Evox M8.16 (M8+.16 on newer chips with bank protector swicth on). Suitable for 1.6 version only. Re-Flash using Evoxdash.
Bios size 512K each bankAlways Enabled
To make the chip always enable whichever button you boot from. Solder the BT pad on the chip to Pin 9 on the chip. "2nd pad in from the D0 point.Image Below shows Banks and Alt points if you lift a pad ON THE CHIP The Diagram Also Applies to the White DuoX 2If you have a DuoX2 GS and you lift a pad, below is a d0 and BT trace diagram for the DuoX2 GS (white or blue)
The Flash IDs to add to ini files for flashing for a DuoX 2 (White or Blue ) are
0x01d5,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000
0x04d5,"FUJITSU - MBM29F080A",0x100000
0xadd5," HYUNDAI - HY29F080",0x100000
The Correct Flash ID for the DuoX Lite is
Evox 3935 already contains the correct flash IDs and you should be able to flash your DuoX2 Lite with no problems
Also you can try HackDaBox's Flash Disc - it will contain the proper flash IDs
These are the preferred bioses for said Xbox versions:
XBOX V1.0 - v1.5 - X2 4981.06 (512K) or X2_5035_vOld_512k
XBOX V1.6A - v1.6B - EVOX M8 PLUS V1.6 (512K) or X2_5035_v16plus_512k
The X2 5035 bioses are only currently recommended for yourself for testing , and are only recommended for more advanced users. They haven't undergone the same testing as the older bioses, so use at your own risk.Hotswap To FlashAuthor HackDaBox
Working Xbox with a Pinheader Install and a Working Modchip with a Hacked Bios
HackDaBox Re-Flash Disc
With the working Xbox turned off Remove the lid , the screws from the hard drive bay and DVD-ROM drive. Remove the hard drive (still connected ), lift it up and over slightly, now lift the DVD-ROM drive up ( still connected) and spin it around to face the opposite way. So now the DVD-ROM is facing the wrong way round but still connected . Support the DVD with something underneath, so it sits level. Now put the hard drive bay back where it used to be ( covering up the power supply ).
WARNING NEVER TOUCH THE POWER SUPPLY AREA AS IT CAN KILL YOU !
This procedure is safe the way I have described above because you have access to the Modchip area . The chip should be plugged onto a pinheader ? If not you can not re-flash this way.
Now remove the wire that goes to the D0 pad on the Modchip itself. Unscrew the screw near the LPC area and put the D0 wire under the screw and carefully tighten it up. You can solder the wire to the circle around the screw if you wish. remove any wire you have connecting the chip to the Xbox motherboard but leave the chip plugged into the pinheader.
Now depending on your chip type you need to make the chip enabled all the time.
On DuoX 2 solder a wire between the BT pad on the chip and pin 9 on the chip (This is point G on the official Duo diagram) see the picture below coutesy of cubistproject.
On Aladdin solder a wire between BT pad on the chip and Pin 2 on the chip
On Spiderchip simply leave off the switch.
Note : You need to do this to the good chip in the Xbox and the ones you intend to Flash.
Turn on the Xbox with the good chip in and let it boot up and then load HackDaBox Re-flash Disc Choose Re-flash Spiderchip ( it works fine on DuoX 2 and Aladdin ). Choose the Xbox version you wish to use the flashed chip on. E.g. 1.0 - 1.5 or V. 1.6 but don't hit A to flash yet.Note Evoxdash or Slayers or your preffered Flash utility can be used with this method.
Now carefully pull the Modchip off the pin header with the power still on ( note only 3.3 volts goes into the Modchip so it will not electrocute you.Now carefully line up the chip you are going to flash and then push it on the pinheader. Never try and force it on , double check it's lined up properly and it should slide onto the pinheader easily.
Now go ahead and flash the chip now. The Xbox should turn off after the successful flash. Once it turns off ,turn it back on and the previously bad flashed chip should now boot the new flashed bios that you just put on it.If you picked Xbox V.1.6 and your Modchip is not in a V.1.6 it may not boot reliably so try it in the V.1.6 box.
Remember to put all the original wires back to the chip, and remove any links you have made. In other words put the install back to the manufacturers recommendation.

Solder a link wire from BT to G on the DuoX2 like in this picture ...
You should have D0 from motherboard to D0 on DuoX2
You should NOT have a wire to BT on motherboard ( behind eject button )
Now press power to boot the xbox and the RED led should flash on and off continuously. If your RED light is not flashing resolder your D0 point and double check it's the right point you have soldered to. Change your D0 to the bottom side one if your using the top D0. If you have a Xbox V1.6 then triple check you have rebuilt the LPC correctly as this is most likely your problem. Use a multimeter to check there is power running throw the LPC. Heres a pic of the LPC pinouts ...
With the xbox on and the dvd-rom removed set your multimeter to volts DC and place the BLACK probe on pin 2 and the RED probe on pin 9, It should read 3.3V. Now move the RED probe to pin 6, It should read 5V. If you don't get power resolder the connections after you turn the xbox off. Also have a look for broken traces around the LPC points.
If the RED led flashes but the MS BIOS boots then the D0 point is the problem and you will need to resolder it. Try using the bottom side D0 as it's easier. Try booting my HackDaBox Reflash Cd as sometimes people think the chip isn't working becuase the MS dashboard boots but this is normal, it won't look different unless you have installed a replacement dashboard.
Finally if your DuoX2 chip now behaves like it should and boots up fine into the hacked bios and flashed a RED led then your BT wire was your problem and you can now remove the link from BT to G and now fit a wire from the DuoX2 BT to the BT on the motherboard ( behind the eject button ) or the alternate BT point on the bottom side of the motherboard.DuoX 2 Lite Install Guide Author Odog
Hey everyone, I was looking though the forums one day and never really saw a really good guide to install the DuoX 2 Lite. So I decided to make my own tutorial for this.
First to start off have the following:
Soldering Iron Anything less then 30Wats is fine.
Wire, any good wire
Torx 10,15 and 20 bits. Only get 15 if you plan to replace your hard drive.
Chip, pinhead both male/refemale
Eyes that can see
Hands that can hold stuff
Now, You receive a package that came with a:
Male and Female Pinhead.
1.6 Rebuild Board
DuoX 2 Lite Chip
Remove the pins not needed in the installation from both the female and male pinheader. A qucik comparison with the pCB they solder into will make this obvious as to which ones to remove
ok now, open your xbox up with the following tutorial made by tutorial made by XanTium
Great now that you have your xbox all open you have to figure out which xbox version you have. HERE
If you have a 1.0-1.5 skip this part.
So your the unlucky one and have a 1.6 now you need to solder some extra wires.
Grab that rebuild board flip the motherboard and place the rebuild board to the following points.
With those points all good, now move on.
great. With that done, get the alt d0 point soldered.

1.6's look at this picture to see the d0 point. Also use this picture if you lost your 1.6 rebuild board.
Great, glad you made it this far. Now put the motherboard back to the case and its stime to solder that BT point located behind the Power/Eject Board.
With all that, place the chip on the male pinheader like so. Now solder BT and D0 to the chip and your done. End result should look like this:
