I got a bad flash on my dvd drive a few months ago and now I want to get it goin again. Does anyone know where I would be able to aquire a programmer that works witht he Hitachi 46 drives? I know there are people that do this and will probly offer but I rather do this on my own.

You will need a Willem II and the relevant adaptor. You will also need to unsolder the Flashrom from the drive to program it then refit it. Fleabay sell the gear but it will not be cheap or easy unless you have good soldering skills and some spare money

Edit: Do you thin it would be possible to hot swap the dvd drives? My friend and I both have a hitachi 46. He has the Connectivity kit if that makes any difference.
Cheers
