This guy got a nice list up there I like Del tha funke Homosapian from Hieroglyphics plus Wu-Tang just killed it in the 90's. I would say right now I am feeling Jadakiss, the whole D-Block family, Cam'ron, Gangstarr, Jeru Tha Damaja. There are so many I just can't pick one. Each person has his/her own flavor that I like but I agree with you on one thing Big L is the best of all time.

Ok so there's way too many mainstream artists on this thread so I thought I'd add a few that are a little bit more underground or older to balance things out.  I do like a lot of mainstream rap/hiphop though.  By the way, you should definately check out everyone I name because if you haven't already, you're missing out.  Oh and if you are genuinly interested and want me to send you some of the music through AIM or something like that just PM me.  I'll answer you as soon as I can.

Yea man that song is wack I listened to it like 4 or 5 times and I'm sick of it. The beat is nice but that's as far as the song goes. What a waste. I'm not a big 50 fan but he does have some nice tracks (SOME). His old album was A LOT better than this one but the massacre has got some nice tracks like "Position of Power" and "Get in my car"


My favourite rapper has gotta be Royce da 5'9. He's hands down the most underrated rapper in the game.

Immortal technique spits better than any mainstream rappers, Iv been listenin to his stuff for a while now. Jedi mind tricks are good, but here in London there is a big 'grime' scene (Dizzee rascal, crazy Titch, JME, N.A.S.T.Y, Roll Deep etc) which I think is gonna get bigger over the next few months.

American artists are sounding too simlilar now - even eminems beats are getting a bit boring - his last 2 albumbs are nothing on the first couple.

Rap has turned into the sadest forms of music out there, It used to be the best with rappers like pac but now u got fake B*t#@$ like 50 cent out there, i mean has anyone looked at www.the50centgame.com any person who has to create a story about their life and how they " run new york" is obviously pretty sad. For one wu smokes 50 for owning new york n e day, then u got other artists like lost boys that also tear him up, basiclly all good rappers dont make cds n e more or are dead, everyone now is all commercial and 100% about money they dont care ne thing about the actual music, i mean look at the song Im So Fly, by lloyd banks i think it is where in the music video he juss throws cash around acting like hes a pimp, in the end no one cares how fly this goof is, and how much money he can throw, why cant rappers think of lyrics that have meaning any more? Rap died with Tupac, and aint ever gunna be returned to is prior glory.


The best proof you will find of all horrible rappers is anyone that worked on Loyal To The Game, they have taken the greatest rapper Tupac, and turned his music into mainstream marching band music, the beat is all just base base base base, it has no variance not at all how pac would have done it, and then u got the gofs changing 2pacs words to say things like " im packing 2 now in 99" and " g unit in the mo@%%^# house" and givin shout outs to 50, this could only be the work of people as shitty as Eminem, Obie Trice, 50, and G unit, the only person who should of worked on that cd is Red Spyda, cause he actually knew 2pac, unlike these other fake buddies. Eminem is quickly becoming the biggest discrace to rap/hip hop i mean all of his beats are the same, he really is a horrible producer, and when it comes to his songs, they arent much better and have such annoying choruses that repeat so often.

wow finally some one that truly understand and thinks like me, i completely agree and in fact if you look at some of my posts you will see that i wrote the same thing about loyal to the game, G-unit and 50 have just made it into a joke.

now i also agree that the new rappers just don't understand what its all about, rap used to be about letting every one know what you think with out you giving i fuck what they thought but now its all about the money!

but we still have some hope left, for example not everyone are like 50 cent and G-unit just care about the money, Immortal Technique has been offered a deal from Sony but he refused because he wanted to stay independent! thats what hip hop is about!

oh and by the way, it has to be said that snoop dogg gave away all his dignity!

HELL YA MAN where have u been, finally some one who agrees and isnt taken in by all this commercial BS, snoop definantly turn his back on rap when he started singing songs like beautiful, and queer shit like that, and whats up he doesnt know if hes east or west, one minute hes westcoast the next hes rappin on Tha Eastsideaz, its all just sad as hell. Never heard of immortal technique before, i mostly juss stick with my pac, my playlist is basiclly juss pac, lostboys, bit of bone thugs and some wu. Got a few peety pablo songs in there dont think hes to bad because hes not all commercial he has some songs where he actualy puts some meaning into and i mean the rest are about women, and what man doesnt want his woman, at least he isnt throwing money around saying hes so fly. Xzibit aint a bad rapper, but i think that him making a show is somewhat gay, when people want money they will do anything on tv to get it, paris hilton is a prime example of this and deserves to be shot for corrupting all our women with her skandalouz ways.
