Hi guys,just got hold of a 40gig phat model ps3 with a dead laser.Only problem is,is there so expensive to buy a new one.The laser in mine has no beam at all but it does bounce up and down about 3 times and the disk spindle doesn't move but from what i've read,that's due to the laser being to fault.
I've replaced and pot tweaked many an Xbox and Xbox 360 laser but the PS3 ones are so completly different as i can't find any pots on this laser assembly what so ever.
If anyone at all has a 40gig PS3 that beyond repair (YLOD or Red screen of death) and could perhaps part with the laser or either free or as cheap as possible,please,please,please could you message me asap.
