So I had this idea to modify an Intec xbox A/V switch and combine it with an xbox case to build a unit I can sell on ebay! Probably sell it as an Xbox Developer Console (I think they use computers now instead of special consoles like they used to do with Dreamcast etc.) but I will call it a non-official prototype or something and I should be all set because it will be the first of it's kind.

This is the Intec Xbox A/V switcher:

The A/V switcher opens from the bottom instead of from the top like a normal Xbox would:

Openings have been cut out:

From the top with the bottom put back on, I left a strip down the middle for structural support (you will see later on):

Interesting mod idea but the method of selling it sounds deceitful. wink.gif

Thanks guys!

This is an original actual Xbox I started gutting:

Gutted out:

From the top, and that is the only exhaust fan I have to work with so I will have to make the best of it:
IPB Image

Xbox on top of A/V switcher, same panels cut out from the Xbox bottom as the switcher's top (aka Dremel):

Look at all this room for a microATX board, and the CPU heat sink will be just below the exhaust fan. I needed to leave this strip because it has the stand off supports for the HDD and DVD trays.

What have you been smoking? Xbox Dev consoles are Xboxes with more RAM and different BIOSes and keys etc, not some AV switch transplanted into a cut down Xbox shell! wink.gif

It looks good, but if you sell it on eBay you'll have to call it something more accurate, like "AV switch in an Xbox case"........

Dude I realize that! But do you know how many retarded collectors there are in this world that would buy it in a heartbeat if it's a one of a kind item and done up nicely. Dev consoles might look like normal Xboxes but before they decided on that they might have made a few prototypes wink.gif

No no no, it's not an AV switch in an Xbox case you need to follow this thread further.... it will run Windows, and the AV switch components don't even exist anymore!

Ah. Now I understand. You started with an Intec AV switch and an Xbox and you're merging the cases together into a brilliant new Frankenstein hybrid and adding a PC motherboard - but it's still fraud if you call it a Dev Kit prototype, nomatter how gullible the buyer might be!

......and the fact that you've advertised your intentions publicly makes it more difficult to defend if you get caught..... smile.gif

I"m a collector and I would never buy that as a collectors item. Most collectors
know what's real and fake, and that my friend is fake as hell.

Bazinga! And well... I well change the wording when sold for sure.

Oh well, someone will buy it as something. I mean they have NES cases with PC's shoved inside for $250-500 on ebay so this should bring in a few bucks when finished all dressed up!

This is how they are suppose to fit together stacked, I will replace those 4 selector button holes with 4 normal usb ports seeing how the controller ports ARE usb with just a different shaped connector:

The rear gutted:

I had some old WRT-54G routers laying around and a set of high gain antennas so I figured I would use up those left and right RCA output holes in the back of the A/V switcher so I installed the male connectors:

With the high gain antennas that will be wired to a wifi device:

Ok I have no idea what to do about this thread or the OP for that matter. This hing you are making is not an xbox because it will not contain an xbox motherboard. You have mislabeled this thread because the title does not even come close to describing this crap you are building. You have basically stated you are gonna try and scam some "retarded collectors" on ebay. Guess I am gonna just have to talk to a head mod to see what actions to take.

Ok? You really feel the need to try and report something like this!? Maybe you might want to spend that time practicing reading up on English because I already stated my intent has been changed. If you REALLY have that much time on your hands find a way for me to change the title of the thread or shut your pie hole.

How about I shut YOUR pie hole for a few days?

What a dumbass. blink.gif

Your intentions were to hack up some xbox parts (and accessories), then attempt to sell your creation as a "prototype" with the hopes that you'll find some idiot who will fall for it & drop a few hundred on a hunk of junk. Now that people are calling you out on this, you decide to tell someone to shut their pie hole?

Consider YOUR pie hole shut for the next three days.
