Xboxdoesnt Pass The Msoft Screen Options

my friend convinced me to softmod my box. weve been wanting to do it for awhile but finally we submitted to it and here are where all my problems began lol


ok the systems softmod was sucesful and all, except the reading of most copied games, i cam to the concluion that it was the media i was recording based on the stuf ive been reading all over the place on the net. so i tried A LOT of different dvds and to no avail, i tried verbatim and riteks but both after like ten minutes kept freezing. i know they werent the games cause my other friends could play em without a problem


now this morning i was told by the guy who did my mod that the problem was most likely the dash i had installed (unleashed x) he said i shoul replace it with another because the other system he was soft moding (my other friends) was having the same problem i was having with reading games and that when he replace the dash with uix (i think thats the name) that all the backup games read fine. even the games that reviously were unreadable byunleashx.

SOoooooi told him to send it to me via ftp to my server and BOOM, i installed it and never saw the inside of my dash again. it gets stuck on the official MSOFT green load up and thats it. it plays retail games but i cannot get into the dash. i also cannot FTP into it. i tried to re-install through 007 xploit and no good, i get a read me file, a patch 06 and 07 and none work.

ANYONE PLEASE help me......im ouutaa ideas

As far as unleashx being the cause of your problems. I doubt it! Unless maybe you had such an old version or something but I've never experienced it. The only freezing that I've ever encountered were do to bad media or corrupt gamesaves.

Maybe an old bios or something? If you can still boot up retail games I don't see why your not able to run a gamesave exploit and ftp back in to replace the dash.

Hanging at the X with the m$ logo at the bottom is usually because the fonts couldnt load the xbe they are pointed to.

Your options are limited, but with the ability to boot retail games, you might try updating your dash to get back to retail, prolly wont work because the retail fonts arnt present.

Do you have an eeprom backup?

well as far as a iipromm i dunno what that is...ill ask him, far as being able to ftp back into thebox since ican still launch the xploit,i saw that my ip had changed to something different, i had 192.168.1.103dhcp and it changed to 192.168.0.200static

i changd the ip accordingl on my WS_ftp and no goodunless im missing astepin the ftp setup

any other ideas /recomendations

I'm having a hard time understanding you. You are setting up the ftp wrong one way or another thats for sure. Are you running behind a router? I'm assuming since you mentioned you had an ftp server you have some sort of network correct? Or your running the server on your main PC? Whatever you have you have to have the xbox set to the same subnet and IP range as your network, router, etc...

I've never seen a DVD drive cause it to fail after the blubber screen. And I've witnessed a few Xbox DVD rom drives fail. They just won't read any disks anymore.

like daddyj allready mentioned. Hangin at the logo screen indicates the fonts are unable to load to the xbe it is supose to load. This can be a wrong setup or just fonts that are incompatible with your system.

I wonder if when he attempted to replace his dash he named it default.xbe and actually replaced his PBL or kernal patcher?
