Like so many others, I am Lite-on w/IX 1.61, NXE, not banned, and staying off of live. I have not played any wave 4 or 5 games yet in the hopes that new firmware would come and rescue me from staying offline.

We all know that may or may not happen.

I am now considering just staying offline forever, but I don't want to have to use the activate.iso with my IX1.61. I have seen the "new" 1.4 firmware, but I am wondering why not just use IX 1.51? Wont it boot any wave? I don't really understand the desire for "non-stealth" firmware...


I really wish I would have stayed away from NXE so I could be using the new homebrew hacks...
Oh well. That is water under the bridge. Maybe I can find an old console on Ebay.


My real question is this:

Is IX1.51 a good solution to boot stealthed Wave X without the need for activate.iso? (I will still stay off of live)

no. it turns out that 1.51 couldnt actually boot any wave. it worked for wave3 but once wave4 was out it only worked on hitachis. I believe the problem was with the fact that video partition as well as pfi data are different in wave4, but 1.51 didnt account for this

i bet you could always just use one of the patcher programs to patch the .iso's to whatever wave you wanted.

you have ix1.61 on your lite-on where do you get it from? i thought there is no ix1.61 for lite-on's.

Yeah shure you can. But if you want to play online with iXtreme LT you will have to reburn all your Games. So at least for me that isn't an option.

the desire for none stealth is simple it will play anything and is as close to the original fw as you can get as long as you check your games you should never in theory get banned off live using it as it does not preform all the unneeded noob ban prevention stuff that later fw does had i known that none stealth was safer then stealth
i would of bought benqs for all my flashes and used none stealth

why? if it has splitvid its fine. and its still not confirmed if c4e's statement meant splitvid is needed to be safe or needed to boot
