Ok following my first wireless controller mod I thought I'd get brave and do another

Take 1 wireless controller, complete with instructions...wooooooo
user posted image
And Set the channel on recievr and controller to the same number ive choose "2" user posted image
add a few batteries
user posted image
And plug into your xbox and test, this serves 2 purposes 1, you know if the mod dont work its your fault, it helps to remind you why your doing this mod, that huge and ugly reciever. Ok on to the good stuff.
user posted image
turn your reciever upside down and remove the 4 little screws you see.
user posted image
and peel of the top half of the case

Remove the next two little screws, and the memory card unit thing.
user posted image
throw it all away, you dont want to see that again. Now cut the controller jack off as close to the end as possible and examine your handy work, yay a broken reciever with some coloured cables. What now?
user posted image
Turn it upside down. fun Aye?
user posted image
What we want to do next is to cover the whole of the bottom side in a layer of electrical tape. this is for insulation
user posted image
Underside covered......

Now to do the top aswell. make sure we get the bit or board that is align vertically and creates that 90 degree angle.
user posted image
ok now strip about a cm of the end of each cable and attach extra cable to each end, making sure its stripped at the other end. you should make this as long as your xbox is - plenty of room for postioning. Attach securely and electric tape.
user posted image
Heres the picture of the first time i did this. you see the reciever is attached right to the bca end of the case, behind where the dvd drive goes.
user posted image
Ok so carefully snip the cables coming from the port you want your wireless controller to be on. In the picture i am doing port 2 and you can see where port 1 was originally cut for my first mod.

now pull the clip from the Mobo and attach the ends of your extended cables to those that correspond by colour on the part that came from the controller port. You following?, a little point here make sure that the second black cable is kept unattached the second black cable is the one right on the end and is slightly thinker then the rest, this is a grounding cable.
user posted image
all attached...
user posted image
find a good place to position your reciver i found that a good trick is to look for a component that has almost the same height as the tallest part of the reciver and back the reciever onto that. Make sure you dont place it over a screw hole! you can see where i placed my reciever.
user posted image
Now the cable that we left unnattached, the grounding cable needs to be attached securely to a point inside the xbox that is grounded such as the metal sheeting. The Red is grounded from my first reciever and the yellow from number two. I have wrapped the cable around the sheeting and then elctric taped both sides.

Neaten the whole thing up and secure all the wires.
user posted image
Re-assemble your whole case and sit Back. Enjoy falling in love all over again.

I wouldn't do this mod because I can't stand those controllers.

Other than that, good work.

The only two things I don't agree with are taping the ground to the shielding and cutting the controller port out. huh.gif Cheap, unprofessional shortcuts, if you ask me. Then again, it works, right? The correct way to do it would have been to get a relay and install it so that the wired controller ports turn on when you plug a controller in, or even a switch.

Spam much? Sorry, I really wouldn't normally do this, but he's said almost this exact same thing to like the last 8 topics..

pSc

Edit: It is a good job on the tutorial though, I probably should've said that..
