I want to be able to power on my sofmodded Xbox without a DVD drive by connecting wires of the DVD power connector, I do not want to do this by using a modchip or doing a TSOP flash. Does anyone know what wires to connect to accomplish this?

I tried following a tutorial that said "What you need to do is bridge pin 5 to 11 and 6 to 12 (11 & 12 are ground) and supply 3.3v to Pin 7 on the DVD Drive Power Cable.", this did not work.

Another forum said "connect pin 4 to 3.3v(pin 6)" but some people disagreed so I didn't try it.

Another guy built an Xbox from spare parts with the only original Xbox parts being the motherboard, power button & controller. He was able to spoof a DVD drive like I'm trying to do but doesn't give the exact wiring setup. Go to the "retarded xbox?" heading to see his description and pic.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. This is my first post, I hope I'm in the right category.
