I recently bought a premodded 360 which was apparently fixed with a reflow station.

Anyway, I had this strange problem with the graphics going crazy (in-game, back at dashboard(easier to see)) the first time I played it. I turned it off and then waited 30 minutes and tried again, and I didn't have the problem anymore for a while. Recently it started again much more often (I usually have to restart 3 or 4 times before it finally doesn't happen).

The interesting thing is that it only happened during the first 20 minutes or so of playing. If I made it past 30 minutes, it wouldn't happen no matter how long I played, which doesn't seem to be consistent with a heat problem to me.

And now while I was typing this, I got E74.

Considering these details, does anyone have any advice for the best way to proceed trying to get it fixed? It really sucks to shell out for a console (not to mention the hundreds of dollars of yet-untouched perepherials) and then only get to play for a week.

For what it's worth, I have the drive key for my modded BenQ drive, and two other broken 360s I got off friends who were trashing them, one of which gives 4 red rings (not 3) and one of which shows E74.

Thanks

Well, this is a commong GPU problem. If you are able to see the E74 on screen means a solder under the GPU is broken. You have to reflow it to restore the solder.

Thanks.

Does that mean the guy who said he reflowed it was lying? Is it normal to have to reflow it again after a week of use?
