I've got a few backup games that require patching; thing is, I don't want to store them on my XBOX hard drive (too small). I figured the only way to patch them then would be to extract the iso file and edit default.xbe, and then build another iso with all the extracted files and the fixed default.xbe.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any way to do this without extracting the iso, because it is often a very lengthy process (not to mention makes your PC emit horrible grinding noises!)

Thanks for any help.

Why do you have to remake the ISO?
Just use recordnow max to burn the cd in udf format and it should work...

You can patch the iso with a ppf patch that are around for some games.

You can do what i do and that is that i store the rar files for a game in a directory which i burn to dvd when i have 4gig of games rars and so what i do is that i extract the rar to get the iso, extract the iso and then if needed i patch the default.xbe and put it in the crack directory inside the game directory with the rars or iso's so all people have to do is to extract the iso and then replace the default.xbe with the patched one. Hope this makes sence to you
