im about to install a 120 gig hd in my xbox. what i want to know is how it should be partitioned. from what i understand is that the a and b drives arent used, the c drive has saves and other important stuff, d is dvd drive, and e is used for something.

whats e used for?

should i put everything in f?

i hear alot about people needing to use an X drive. are there any other needed partitions for it to run?

I also read in tutorials that involve installing evox that you need to delete the xbox dashboard. is this no longer necessary? is it the same for xbox unleashed or xbmc?

thanks a bunch in advance.

E is used for your game saves and some other stuff. You can put all your apps and games on F if you wish.

It sounds like you didn't read that many if any tutorials

C:\ is system and dashboard information
D:\ is the DVD drive
E:\ holds game saves and other various information
X:\ Y:\ and Z:\ are just cache directories for temperary game files and you don't need to worry about them

Read some more tutorials

Use Slayers Auto Installer for the new harddrive
