Where did u order the Darlington array?? ive been looking around in the internet and no luck ordering the darlington array, all i saw was order like 300 of them minimun....
What kind of cable is that, is that the soft cable 20 gauge or the solid cable?? im making kinda the same as your doing but im puting the d-pad in it too with a picaxe 28 pins its a time consuming project but im almost complete...
...exept for the freaking female 3.5mm stereo phone jack that they sell in picaxe that doesnt have the pins numbered, and im having a hard time figuring out which pin (in the female connector) is which (they have a above view of it but i cant really make a picture of it. (sorry but when the picture says above i hold the connector with the pins upwards and i look down, with the jack facing away, and i map as it is) so i did it that way but the picaxe wasnt detected by the computer. if you could take a picture of that jack and tell me how you route your pins that would be helpful.
i see if i can post my project with the dpads...
nice going!!!

Thanks for the tip Skittle,
I almost done with it i just need to route the cable which is a lot for the dpad, but it fit well i just need some minor stuff and im done...
its kinda hard with my job to give time to modding but im doing it!!!
ill post the pics as soon i finish it, and post some dumb-proof step by step (with pictures and colorful cables) on how to mod it with the d-pads, but so far so good...
im using the new controllers board, is there any difference on the old matrix?
im amazed on how well your solder the cables, but a warning, if you solder directly to the chip it will be damaged, unless your really good at soldering dont directly apply the soldering iron tip to the chip...
... and if you bend it make sure you bend it good to avoid breaking the pins.
and dont use solid cables they are hard to handle... (im a good case of that)
and dont bring your kids or wife to it they are clumsy and will break something (AHHH.. MY WIFE... AHHH... MY KID..., thanks for breaking my picaxe again)
Im hook up with the picaxe chips now... i want to build robots with it now... so addicting...

QUOTE(killer skittle @ Mar 10 2009, 09:44 PM) 1. the new controller is a lot eaiser to use seeing that everything has the common ground, so you useless wires and easier for picaxe programming! 2. all i use is solid core wrapping wire, maybe a personal preference but i like a lot more! 3. lol, i dont have a wife or kids (only 16) but dont have 2 little dogs out and running around you either, jump jump ahh my soldering iron...ahh the hot glue gun! your a noob. Im jelous i dont have a picaxe....im 16 also EDIT: Did you fit the rumblers in with it? This post has been edited by Salincer: Mar 11 2009, 04:42 AM
