Just happened to be channel surfing by G4 and saw Morgan Webb on ATOS so I stopped and watched for a second. Anyway, they mentioned the early release at Toys R Us. I would love to have the game now but I'll wait for my LE with my Big Daddy (Major's podcast have info that each one was hand painted.. nice)

She even hinted that she went and picked it up early... hahaha

i have both an xbox 360 and a ps3, right now i prefer the ps3. how can u say metal gear 4 looks crap? ive just finished playing metal gear 2 now for around my 20th time since its release in 2001. the metal gear series are fantastic. i got very bored quickly with the bio shock demo and the irish guy did my head in.
the water effects are ugly 2 (yes im playin in hd)

I think you have your 360 on standard def, move the toggle over to HDTV, because the water effects are OUTSTANDING dude...

i wouldnt bother. he's just gonna claim to the contrare. to me it's clear he's a fanboy from his prior posts. he claims to own both consoles, but prefers PS3?? no one in their right mind would say something like that. the 360 has roughly twice the amount of exclusives coming to it than PS3 does. the multiplatform games run better on the 360 which is a proven fact for the time being. i dont see how he owns both and be so biased when one is clearly better than the other in almost every aspect for right now. i would be siding with 360 now until the PS3 got its act together if i were him.

now this all granted. he may have a preference for the PS3 for w/e reason, but i wouldnt understand why when the 360 is for the time being doing substantially better.

anyways it would just be better to ignore him. no one is going to say anything he'll agree with. he'll more than likely counter it and pull something out of his ass that holds no merit or is so backward that we all can laugh at him in the end.

This game is blowing me away honestly, how anyone can not be impressed by the art style and atmosphere of this game has got to be mentally ill, I’ve never played a game that had this style before.

The lighting and water effects are easily the best I've ever seen and the story so far has been totally engaging.

Serious contender for game of the year in my opinion, if you can some how get a early copy run.

The demo isn't bad, but I do have some gripes about the graphics, take a look at these images:

http://www.filehive.com/files/0815/tex1.jpg - The sign's texture is godly, but look at the column behind it... what is that.. a 128x128 texture?
http://www.filehive.com/files/0815/tex2.jpg - Another poorly textured column.. plus, the smash marks from the pipe wrench map very poorly around the corners.

I do have some praises though, the water effects ( http://www.filehive.com/files/0815/water.jpg ) look great, and the skills are nifty.. it's nice how you can disable bots by electro-bolt and fry people in water with the same skill.

i just find the game boring, and you calling me a fan boy because i prefer the ps3?? no im not a fan boy i just no what i like. personally i couldnt give a damn about exclusives who cares what a certain console gets unless you your self are a fan boy.
and as for the 360 i own 2 of them well one is my bros and one is mine i had 3 up untill last tuesday when my girlfriends died all 3 were in the same room.
i think its really stupid when people arent allowed to judge for themselfs i came on saying i dont like it then almost everyone that posts in the thread flames me? right u sure your not fan boys.......
to me the game is just boring, the "splashes" of water look worse then the smoke on cod3 they just look like 2d puffs of smoke in water...
my bro played the demo and loved it he went out to buy it yesterday after 2 hours of playing he turns to me and goes "it is pretty boring actually" if you like it fair enough but dont slate me because i have my mind that i speak and my own opinions not fueled by the media's biased reports.

Claming a demo "sucks ass" with no foundation of your claims is begging for flames, you got what you deserved. If you explained yourself upfront instead of just making a brazen flame on the game followed by a insult to everyone on this site people might respect you.

What you did was the equivalent of walking into an NAACP meeting saying that MLK Jr "sucked ass" and then called everyone in the room the N word... and then started complaining that people were mad at you and not respecting your opinions.

Respect is a 2 way street... don't expect to get any if you're not giving it in the first place.

toys r us rules and so does this game. played it for about 8,9, fuck 10 hours?? Its incredible, very engaging. Playing through on hard and its one of those 'cant-put-it-down' games. Why am I at work? Oh yeah, to support the gaming habit.

It's funny alot of people that picked it up are just putting it back out on ebay... for like $100 or more.. I hope they don't sell the copies and are forced to keep or trade them back in.

C'mon guyz, a man/fanboy is entitled to his opinions. Even though it's a lone voice in a sea full of uncompromising praise. The Eurogamer review (the only one available on gamerankings) is so absolutely filled with love for this game I'm suprised it didn't buck the scale and get 11/10


As for me, this game is a system seller for sure. The architecture and level design alone deserves the highest praise and reward. The atmosphere drips off this game - and I'll buy it.
