it was but for some reason it worked once i rebooted it... and it is flashed and working 100%

I jsuted wanted too add, these guys have amazing customer service, my eject button came off, and has no spring on it now, and they are send me a new dvd adapter tomorrow, there shipping is very fast, they reply fast A+++

HI guys can someone help me make a spear point for my max232 board I am using a Connectivity Kit V1 DO I just solder V+ and Gnd to drive and use TXd wire for the spear do I need to connect Rxd Point anymore?

no need to solder rxt, just V+ (make sure it is either 5v or 3.3v) and gnd

hey guys I'm having some issues with this thing. i was able to read the key a couple of times with xtractor reader 2.7, but when i attempted to read with another program (dvdkey32 from within jungleflash), it didn't work, and when i went back to xtractor reader, it wouldn't work anymore. since then i have not been able to pull the key at all. any ideas?

i did a lookback test and it worked, so i know the xtractor itself is working.

Massive kudos to Team Jungle and the folks at Diygadget. Using an old CK2 unit I had and the Diygadget Liteon Extractor kit ($18.00 shipped), I was able to mod my first Liteon last night. Since the design of the CK2 doesn't allow you to clamp the alligator clip to power the DIY Extractor kit, I simply removed a little insulation from a red wire (5V) leading to a molex connector on my PC and clamped on to it for power. After that everything worked perfectly.

I can't say enough about the series of tutorials provided by Diygadget on the tiaowiki site. They made all the difference.

yes, the tutorials at www.tiaowiki.com is the best tutorial I have found so far! The addon idea is very good! for CK2 owners you don't need to spend $$$ on CK3, just use the addon and it would work for you.

I'm having a lot of problems reading my lite-on's key.

jungle flasher tells me all 0's
dvdkey32 tells me all C's
and xtractor reader is just erroring all the time now telling me to restart the lite-on which i have done countless times.

any ideas?

one more thing can you try dumping with the stock xbox 360 dvd power cable, because it seems the power cable you have has 2 extra wires? :S

Ya i see that too in the pic, im buying one of those things soon, is that gunna be a problem that will cause it not to extract the key right if i use a wire without those 2 extra ones?

the extra wires are just for RX and TX.
when you extract the key, RX is not needed.
TX is done by the spear, so you shouldn't not have any problem

yes, i have done a loopback test, and the extractor is fine.

Ok I finally managed to read the key although I did notice something odd. I dumped my key and all files with XtractorReader_V27 and DVDKey32_v0.7.

XtractorReader_V27 does not produce a dummy.bin file as everyone already knows. It only makes:
key.bin
inquiry.bin
identify.bin

So a tried to create a dummy.bin file with Jungle Flasher. So I browsed to all the files XtractorReader_V27 created and then it created the dummy.bin with no errors. So out of interest I decided to do a binary compare between all the files from both applications. here are my findings:

I cannot read my key with this kit and my spear was broke when I got it in the mail, but I think I fixed it I can get key extractor to find my drive through sata cable, but then cannot detect my com ports, but when I loopback test them they work fine? when I loopback the extractor though It does not work what do I do? should I buy a usb to com adapter?
