Hi,

I am trying to flash my Benq drive on my xbox but I am having some issues. I got the latest version of iPrep 7.3 beta, and firmware 1.41 for the benq. I had to load iPrep onto a floppy, my motherboard does not support booting from USB. Once booted and everything was connected - I did follow the textbook guide for 2008 step by step to this point.

First screen: selected 2 for Benq,
Next screen: 1 for backup,
Next screen: entered my serial number
Next screen: told me on next you need to.. screen press Y for MTK vendor, turn the drive on yada yada yada, then at the bottom it said press any key to continue
Next screen: got !!!ERROR!!! Firmware backup/patching failed.

ideas??

okay so i got into iPrep via CD. After I enter my serial number I am getting another error!

Backup already exist. What would you like to do?

1. Enter different serial number
2.Continue without dumping again
3. Continue and overwrite existing backup.

Not knowing if I have ever had a sucessful back up cuz of all the errors, I chose 3.

Now I get:

runtime error 001 at 0000: 36FD.
C:\IPREP_~1

What now? Thanks...

forgot to mention I'm using the VIA 6421 PCI. Have silicone SATA on the motherboard. Installed the drivers for the VIA. Maybe theres a conflict with the two SATAs?? I also looked on my floppy to make sure it didn't get back up - there was nothing in the back up folder. I don't understand why now its saying I have already backed it up?

Someone has gotta be smarter than me that can help me out!!

I have a NF7-S V2, and yes I have a USB drive, but like I already said, my motherboard doesn't support booting from USB. So it seems like my options are either floppy - but from what I have read can be a little risky, or from a CD - which I have already tired, but now I'm getting errors says my back up exists which I don't see how is possible.

okay so got v6 of iPrep working sota. Got into it and got to where it read the firmware. Everything was going good, got the success - drive key copied and drive serial copied. Went to run fBen, and now I'm stuck in 0x80. I can't believe how touchy iPrep is!!!!
