I tried rewiring the plug using a pinout i found. Can someone confirm that my wiring is correct. I actually don't want to fry my xbox mainboard so i'll ask before i test.
This is a european powersupply and will be used in a european xbox

Here is a crappy rewiring diagram i made:
IPB Image

The connections on the right side (ATX plug) which are drawn from one pin to another show a bridge between these two pins.

I though every 3.3V line and every GND line is interchangeable. So it doesn't matter which 3.3v or gnd i wire to which pin on the new plug. Is that correct?

Regards

Maybe this can help?

Colors seem to be the same with the exception of the 3.3v standby.

Seems like the pinout you posted matches with the one i found.

But the question is, is it OK to bridge some pins on the plug? E.g. in my diagram the ATX plug (right side) i wired one 5V line (red) to pin 3 and 13. Is there any difference in the power lines (now speaking of all 5v lines) coming from the powersupply? Or can i use every line on every corresponding pin in the new plug?

And what about the orange 3V line? On the old plug (left side in my diagram) there were two cables coming from the powersupply to the pin 5 of the old plug. I just connected these both cables and soldered them with a Y-cable to pin 7 and 18 at the new plug.

I hope now my question got a bit clearer. I think it's hard to explain what i mean biggrin.gif.

Yes. That is fine.

And the other 3.3V (red ones) and GND (black ones) lines are interchangeable (except the 3.3V standby and the PowerOn/PowerOK 3.3V lines, which are already wired correctly)?
Sorry for my questions, just want to be sure before it test it biggrin.gif.

The red wires are 5v, not 3.3, and yes, they don't have a specific place to go as long as you are connecting red to red and black to black.

My fault unsure.gif . I actually meant 5v.

Thank you for the confirmation. I'll give this thing a try. If i don't post any results ... i might have been electrocuted by my own xbox.

its not that difficult to do.. one psu brand has a diferent colour for like 2-3 wires "uses purple and gray for something i dont remember which" but they are in the same order..
And also you have to splice 2 wires to one wire a couple of times. but generally its just a matter of do them 1 at a time untill your done.

few mins in paint..

will this help??

Tested it yesterday, works like a charm.

But i had to remove some wires in my original diagram. The old connector on my 1.2-1.5 powersupply hat some more not used pins like the diagrams you showed. Now it was 1:1 soldering the wires to the new pins without having to splice a power- ord gnd-line.

Just for completion i'll update my diagram and post it again.
