Hi guys,
After reading on apost from this site about a ps1 lcd being modded to the top of an xbox, sadly he looks to be banned so we'll never find out how that 1 went. While i was at work i thought of the idea ( probly been thought of but i cant find a tut) of using a ps1 lcd that i would glue to our vans dash.
Is there away to do some kind of mod so that i could get a £20 ps1 lcd working as an xbox lcd for games instead of a £100 xbox lcd screen that i think may actually be smaller than the ps1 lcd screen.
If this is possible we shall do this.
Regards

how do you want to conect the psone lcd? It has a composite in jackplug (4 conections)
or you can open it up and solder on to the board all you need is 4 wires audio left audio right ,video and ground for video and audio

I'm going to get the ps1 screen now for def, it's £20 second hand from Game.
[QUOTE]It has a composite in jackplug (4 conections)[QUOTE]
Would this be easier than soldering to the board.
Well my setup would be as follows.
We'd be using a Xbox in car adapter to power the Xbox and hopefully the lcd screen would be screwed or glued to our works van dash. Now i have a spare xbox vid cable, could this be modded . And i allso noticed Bobthenob mentioned i would need a voltage dropper, how would i use that if the cigerette lighter was allready being used by the Xbox incar power supply?
Regards
Thanks for the help i'm recieving dudes.

well it would be esier to hard wire the xbox into the car. so instead of using the ciggie adapter, stick it under the dash and wire it to the ciggie lighter socket. get the power for the screen from the xbox psu

Things are looking up.
As soon as the shops open i'm off to get that ps1screen before someone eles gets it.
But before the shops open does anybody know the following?

How to make the xbox have a composite out jackplug (4 conections) with a composite in jackplug on the end for the ps1 mobile display.

As for powering both the units, i'm getting the in car power supply for Xbox with dc out for the Xbox mobile display (which i wont have cos it'll be a ps1 screen) and a 3 port incar adapter for cigerette lighter which'll mean i'll hopefully be able to charge my mobile phone up at the same time.

well to get the right outputs, you need to do some jumpering. do some searching to find the diagram that tells you what you need to jumper to get the right outputs

do you only want to display on the psone lcd .
if so the easist way is to use the standard lead from the xbox 3 phono plugs male yellow Video, red right audio whiteleft audio
on the psone lcd solder a cable with three compsite female conections
as in my pic the ground from the two audios and the video go to

well a pics easeir to follow

Thats a great easy to follow couple of diagrams, respect Bobthenob, thankyou very much indeedy.
The damn ps1 screen was no longer in the shop window, it'd been sold about 2 week ago, lol.

Now the hunt is on for a cheap ps1 lcd.
I did get some usefull things today though, like a

£30 cigerette lighter adapter to normal Uk plug socket wich i'll be trying with a double adapter tomorrow on the way to work with Xbox and 14" portable tv.

£11 4 port cigerette adapter

Maybe the portable tv will be too much of a power drain for a 12v lighter socket, soon find out though, and if it works then maybe a vga adapter and a tft screen might be a good idea. But for the moment i've spent enough so a second hand ps1 screen is what i want.
