Some Sort Of Spam Filter? Options

I dont know what sort of things are in place but it really irritates me when people make an account and then spam a bunch of posts "exactly the same" in lots if not all the sub forum topics.

Then there are the others who join put a link in theire signature and enter posts and say things like:
"I dont understand the question"
Reviving a 4 month old post which is fully answerd just to get an additional link to theiere web page on the internet so google ranks thenm higer.

I dont know about the possibilities of these things but we could have a grace period where new members cannot post email adresses, url's or add them to signatures excetera.
Preferably a time limit rather than a post limit.

maybe spam dosent bother others as much as it bothers me. But its one of the few things that still agrivates me about forums these days.
Everything els that used to frustrate me i have managed to overcome. But i dont think i will ever be able to accept spam.

You obviously don't have a very big problem with the spam because you aren't reporting it.

The mods are a good enough filter. If one of us is active on the forums, spam is almost always taken care of right away. (If we're active and don't have mod privs in certain forums, it sometimes takes a bit longer to let the other mods know.) If it gets reported by a user, it's usually taken care of instantly. I have trouble getting to reported spam first because the other mods are so fantastic about responding to reported posts.

tl;dr: if you see spam or suspicious posts, report them.

and his account was disabled soon after posting. we cant always find all of the posts.
