I've notice that with original 360 games the DVD Drive goes into super mode, yet with backups it acts like at regular speed (its also at regular speeds for original xbox 1 games). Is there a reason for this? It would be nice to force it to read faster for backups, maybe it improves loading times?

Well, yeah. Why not adding a function that it cooks diner for you and brings you your beer while you're watching your favourite sit-com?

Hell man, look at all the posts around, 99% of the ppl are having hard times to get at least one backup running at all, and you're talking about 'hmm, yea... well i'd like to have super speed, cause it really bugs me that I have to wait 3 seconds while it loads'

It seems that with a hitachi you are lucky it reads at all even at the slower spinning speed.

To me it sounds like backups are running at around 6-8x on the sammy while the retail discs run at around 12x. Overall I wish MS wouldhave dropped the Core version and forced HDD precaching to enable the slower 8x dvd-speed while keeping loading times up (ie compare to demos off HDD).

Games like PGR3 or Condemned that spin the disc full speed 100% of the time could just dump all assets of the track or level at the beginning of the level (just load the needed assets for the start of the track/level) to the HDD then spin down to 8x, or always spin at 8x.

Or take FNR3 for example, only a small ring with very limited assets. Just load them all (ie ring and two fighters, ring girls, judge and audio, menu) onto the hdd then spin down for the next 15 minutes. But noo, lets scream like a pig for the 15 minutes and then take 5 seconds to load the menu when you pause.

Instead MS came out with the Core and devs put on /autoignore HDD. I tell you, as much as I LOATHE the PS3, they are darn lucky to get what we had with the xbox1, an inbuilt HDD for almost quaranteed precaching.

Sorry for the tiny rant.

Your missing my point..I have a Samsung not a Hitash, and all my Backups play fine...I was just curious as to why the same game on an original disk spins alot faster then a backup of the same game. Its not my fault you are a retard that can't get the damn thing to work for you.
