last night i saw the Red vs. Blue Beta video on the marketplace, which i thought was amusing in their usual manner.

anyways on to the point. does anyone think/notice that the graphical quality of the beta footage shown in the RvB vid is higher then what were playing in the beta? in no way am i saying the beta is bad or the differences are drastic, but the RvB vid seemed cleaner (another pass of AA?), the character models seemed to have another rendering layer on them (some parallax mapping perhaps?), and the visors on the mask have a VERY obvious reflection mapping (faked maybe, but still there) that is not present in the beta version.

my point is, do you guys think the video is a good indication to the subtle improvements that will be made for the final game, or just an edited (enhanced) version of the engine just for the video?

i know that demos take months to prepare, but at the same time i believe that bungie tried to give us the latest build possible for the best accurate impression. so its kinda confusing to me.

also for anyone that still thinks that halo 3 is halo 2 in HD, just have them watch that video, the entire thing is rendered in HD and there is still a MASSIVE difference between the two games/engines shown.

just figure i would get some opinions from the others who have seen the video as well, i know these differences were the first thing to catch my eye.

I noticed it to, more colorful, sharper picture. My guess that the video is a later build than the beta, not much later though.

I don't see any difference between the RvB video and what we've got in the demo. I think the difference is the better camera angles and closeup shots of master cheif make it look more cinematic as opposed to gameplay. Also, you can bet that even though it's HD, the mastering process smoothed things out a bit.

I for one am pleased with the graphics in the beta. I'd prefer to see less frills in multiplayer. Save the artistic details for the single player campaign.

yeah, i finally got the chance to walk up to the character models (without getting team killed dry.gif ) and i was wrong, the effects are on the visor, but still the video just looks cleaner to me.

im pleased with the beta as well, i can almost understand every choice they have made for the MP and i havent found much i can argue with.
