If your chip is Flash Enabled you can update it right from evox. Look under system settings or what not under evox.

well im new to the xbox and had it 3 days!, basically i want to update the bios from x2 4798 to x2 4977 becuase this then allows me to install a new hard drive.
will configmagic allow me to do this, i dont want use a boot disk cause ive got probs with the xbox reading the media.

No, config magic is an eeprom tool. Evox will flash your modchip.

so what other way other than using a disk can update the bios then?
cant i network to my pc and doit that way? and if so how?

if you have x2 4978 already you can pu tin your larger HD, its identical to 4977 except 4978 has an FTP client in it

thats because you new HD doesnt have any data on it.

The problem is when i have the the new hd installed i cant ftp connect, its just brings up the logo, so how can i put information on the hd

yo uneed to use slayers or soemthing to format the HD, then you can put data on it
