Today free60.org has some new info about the xbox 360 hard rive. here is a link you guys can read. Please don't PM askking me if i did this and aksing me questions. i did not do this. i do not now that much about hacking this thing i am only a kid and learning about the security the reason i put this year is so you guys that are more experineced and know what you are doing can get some helpful info who are working on hacking this xbox 360 and a newb like me can sit back and watch. For a drive to be considered valid it must have the 'Plain text hard disk info' and MS logo PNG. If these elements do not exist then no HDD is detected. So there is no way for third parties to manufacture hard disks without a license or without infringing MS's copyright. (The Gameboy used the same idea for cartridges.)

cant you just add the info and png and try a standard 2.5 laptor sata hd?

The easiest way for newbiew should be writing a dump of another X360 HD to your own SATA disk. Of course you CAN make a huge mistake and overwrite your system disk with a 360 HD image biggrin.gif So someone should write an app for that WHEN the HD replacing is going to get useful tongue.gif
