Maximus (carranzafp) released a tool that will allow you to easily extract the Security Sector (SS) from an original Xbox1 game and to easily patch an image of an Xbox1 game with the Security Sector (SS). It's made to be used with the recently released Xbox1 modified DVD firmware by Commodore4eva that requires DVD9 images to be patched with the SS:

Example of use:
a) Open your created image (with dvd swap or with concatenation of video+game+ss, it doesn't matter)
b) If you have the .dvd file it will load the layerbreak value, if not just type it
c) Go to Image Options->Patch Image...
d) Pick your SS file (leave other values on default) and click patch...

Note: If you are using the Arakon's tutorial, don't do the step of calculating where the security sector is... let my tool calculate it (with the example above shown)

REMARKS:
* If you does not understand any field leave the default value.
* This app does not contain copyrighted code from M$
* You must supply your own game image and your own Security Sector file
* No warranties from any kind. Tested only on Win XP

I totally agree - fantastic work has been done with Xbox 1 DVD firmware and tools - Thanks largely to "The Specialist" and his team of helpers.

I Guess the question on everybodys minds is:

When exactly will we see:

1. A publicly released hacked xbox360 firmware ?

2. A tool of this calibre to compliment the above firmware release ?

Please enlighten a poor ignorant casual console hacker like myself as to why this has not appeared yet, considering:

1. "The Specialist" himself indicated that the security on the Xbox360 DVD was not dissimmilar to the XBox1.

2. A seemingly legitimate video showing this achievement (hacked 360 DVD) was circulating in the wild almost 2 months ago.

3. Surely the legal ramifications are no less significant in releasing a hacked Xbox1 DVD firmware than an Xbox 360 one ?

Remember: I'm not ungratefull, perhaps impatient yes, but most of all curious as to why ?

If someone can shed some light on this topic, I'm sure many will be extremely grateful.

I can't shed any light. But trying to picture it by putting myself in the hackers shoes. Youre sitting on something so big, so significant, so monsterous in proportion and potential, that you're hesitant to make any move. Perhaps its like finding $1mil in a garbage bag - you'd be too nervous to touch it for a a while... but then maybe it's just me.

Just want to say thanks for this app and to commodore4eva for releasing his hack for us all to play with.

To all of you being impatient about a release for x360, remember that the Specialist and his team did not/will not release it to the public but it seems that commodore4eva is going to release his and I believe it will top the hack done by the Specialist and his team. Not to say that they did not lay the difinitive foundation in research to make this released hack possible, but just that The Specialist and his team are not the final hope here. Sure we thank them for their hard work but they are done as far as a public release and their part in this, as far as we end-users are concerned, is virtually over. Commodore4eva will most likely release his hack when it is done and a plethora of apps and devices will no doubt appear overnight to make the whole process as painless as possible.

Well didnt they also NOT release the xbox fw and someone else released it? will happen with the 360 aswell soon I hope

i think the good 360 fuxore apps and the fuxor itself will be released after M$ has a way to detect it on live ... thats what i think anyway
