Hey, okai so I got majority of the paint work done (Get some pics in the morning) Sadly I epoxied the xbox 360 lettering that was in the middle of the logo, and spent a good hour sanding it down and you can still see it through the flat black paint grr.gif mad.gif
Any ideas? hah tongue.gif

So I just got 20 3mm 5000mcd leds for it, and some plexi glass.

So I'm wondering what power source I should be using for about 10-15 leds to make this thing glow?
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=505106

And for resistors 1/4W 510ohm, could I use these any way?

Thanks for the reply's guys!

12v from the bottom of the mobo, where the PSU connects. And from what I can recall off the top of my head, 510 ohm are for 3.3v leds (blue, white, etc) wired to 12v so as long as you use 1 resitor per led those resitors will work.

As to your painting issue, did you prime before you painted with the black?

sad.gif Nope, Can't say I did primer. I used Krylon Fusion plastic paint and it said no sanding or priming needed, and I can't say I did think of priming it!

All the other pieces look really good!

should I sand the paint down? Or should I just paint till it coats it?

Thanks for the LED help, I'll give that a try!

That Fusion paint works very well I used it one my air shroud. Also look under the tut area and look at the alternate 12v source. Very good info to use. I used that to also install a switch to turn my led on or off.

Thanks for the positive comments!

Ahaha, wats wrong with Jobmate? It does exactly what I want it to do (very little) laugh.gif Ahh Im in grade 9 (15years old) And let's say my income is basically my allowance, and cutting people lawn's.

UPDATE:
Rite now I just finished cutting the plexiglass window and I'm mounting the LED's to the plexi (hot glue) and wiring the resistors and +,- wires.
This is a rough diagram of what im doing
+wire-----------------------------Resistor(1/4W,510ohm)withLED(3mm,5000mcd's) x14
-wire------------------------------LED(negative led)to ground x14

Will that work out okai?

Thanks

Update:
So the plexi is cut, and the LED's are glued to the plexi. I will be wiring them up this afternoon, and testing out the light tonight.
Is anyone could answer my wiring question in my post above, that'd be awesome!

Hey guys, I really need help wiring my LED's. As you can see the picture above shows my LED setup, I was thinking of using 1/4W, 510ohm resistors and attach 1 of them to each LED, and than connecting it to a 12v power source, and grounding all the smaller LED legs to somewhere in the case. Is that okai?
I just need some verification before I start?
Or is there an easier way to doing this?
Should I be using a 5v source instead?

Thanks, please tell me if thats okai!

yes that will be fine

your resistors are fine for 12v

i would grab both 12v and ground from the spots under the powerplug.

Is there any way I could use another 12v source, I don't really want to life the mother board out of the case, and I don't know how I'd run a wire underneath the mobo and still keep it leveled?

Thanks Grim!
