Hey all, I'm new to the forums, and to the modding scene. I have recently purchased a SmartXX Version 3, and got that chance to install it tonight.

Unfortunately I'm having a lot of problems with it. It started out with some confusion with the manual on the SmartXX website.

I started out soldering the LPC Pins onto the mainboard, that went well and quickly. I then soldered on the D0 wire (the purple wire according to the manual). Then the confusion set in...I had 3 wires left on that connector that were just sitting there. No where in the manual did it explain what to do with them.

Well no thats not true, it did say, but what it said to do was "Isolate" them. I was confused about what they meant by this. So I just taped them up and left them alone and went about mounting the chip onto the LPC pins and booting up the xbox.

I then got an orange light on the eject button. Then I powered it down, turned it back on and got the flashing red/green light. This process repeated until I finally gave up and went and re-soldered the D0 wire. Tried booting again and got the exact same problem with the lights.

I'm at a loss as to what to do from here on. I know I'm soldering the D0 in the right spot. The power cable is correctly connected to the DVD Drive connector and the chip.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again everyone,

Jared
