OK your gonna need to read the eeprom data from the motherboard. Nice little project and easy to do, link here:

http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/Reading_Xbox_Hdd_key.htm

That guide has everything you need to know, if you can't make the reader (which it sounds like your more than capable of doing) then ebay sell them:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Xbox-EEPROM-Reader-W...=item20b7bc6d04

Once you've read the eeprom data, you will need to create a bootable CD with xboxHDM by ltools (where did ltools go??) including the eeprom data file (BIN). This is all explained in the above guide, I hope this helps you mate.

sorry if links outside of xbscene are now permitted but I couldn't find this guide on here.

OliG, thanks dude!

Tomorrow I'll be able to make this, but I'm not sure, that the burned disc will boot
(Slayer's Installer not boot.) dry.gif

And yeah, I need some instructions how to get needed files and burn them into disc.

Hope I write understandable text.

The disk is booted from a PC with the XBOX HDD attached to the PC not the XBOX (you will need a PC with IDE on it though). You boot the Linux boot disk, goes to a menu and then you lock the HDD from there. Then you should be able to boot the HDD from the XBOX.

But I would't worry about that bit yet, just try and read the eeprom. Then you can look at building a xbhdm boot disk.

I will see if I can find a premade image for you but you will need to add your eeprom.bin file from you xbox on to the ISO.

It's a lot to take in so take it one step at a time.

OliG,
ok, it will be good, if you get the ISO.

But I have one question, if I have softmod, will xbox be able to run ...
I dunno how to say it, pirate disks (?)
Does xbox use dashboard on hdd when he boot a game ?

Oh, I remember, that I've stored xbox's eeprom on it's HD
it's possible to see it's FS ?

No, or yes. Depends on which dashboard you mean, and how you are launching the game.

I use non original drive, so I have no choice how to boot discs.

I can only launch them with reboot.
