Guitar Hero 3 Wont Save Options

i have been playing GH3 for awhile with the xplorer and the GH:A came out and i got it for the les pal well the game had an update with it but after a couple of days playing areosmith i wanted to try the new wireless guitar on GH3 so i started the game and played a song and loved it the guitar was nice. well after i got a new high scare i entered my initials and pushed star then went to auto save and fail then asked me to pick a device then it came up with this message why cant i save?

Hey!

I have exactly the same problem, did you get anywhere with this?
I tried starting up a new game on hard and saved to my memory card instead of the harddrive and it all worked fine, but that means I've lost my progress if I've gotta do that.

Let me know how you got on.

it wont save on the xbox or the memory card. but i have and old file on both my xbox and memory card and it loads just fine. it just started doing this 3 days ago. i think the "Aerosmith" update messed with it but then i did the but press to clear the HDD cache. then i put GH3 in and it loaded my save just fine then i played a song and when i was done highscore and then this.

The update defo. has something to do with it, but I don't have GH: Aerosmith, so it can't be that game in itself. I d/l the top gun and murloc packs before the update, and have all other paid / free tracks. I read somewhere that it screws up if you have more than 50 downloadable tracks.
