will XGD3 games run under freestyle dash? I've tried but it stays in the main window...

yes, running GOW 3 perfectly on mine

if you are running an older kernal version of what is required for the game it will not boot and stay at menu.

I know it's a month old thread, but I'm actually quite interested in the answer.
I have dash 12611, and like was mentioned above - once you click on the game in the FSD gui it stays in the same position, but if you go to file manager and click on default.xex, the game runs with no problem...

Gazc0igne already gave you your answer.

You need to update to the latest freeboot (13599 dashboard). After that it will work
