C4Eva: Livelog Complete - No New Checks on Latest Dash
Posted by XanTium | February 18 15:21 EST | News Category: Xbox360

C4Eva reported on IRC he completed a Livelog on the new dashboard and it should be safe for modified DVD firmwares (iXtreme v3 or v2.x for non-AP25 drives):
[QUOTE]
[c4eva] Livelog complete on new dash! No changes, same checks, safe!
[c4eva] :)

[y****] does burnermax mess up the drive for non xbox burning or reading?
[c4eva] no
[/QUOTE]

NOTE: While the new dash seems safe for CFWs, it does however currently make the RGH impossible. But people are working on a solution and Team Xecuter already announced they will probably have a fix ready for SLIM consoles soon.

I thought the deal with the RGH was because it was hardware based it wasn't patchable?
I haven't updated since Oct, so now Im thinking to not bother as I wanted to RGH at some point.

The hacker who coded it said phats were patchable when he released it, but slims couldn't be. Thats not to say slims couldn't be messed with. From what I gather with slims it would be possible to downgrade the CB as there is no revocation fuse to prevent downgrading, hence working on any and every firmware...

It is hardware-based that is used to remove a software function. We still need the NAND to process the CB hash the same way.

This problem has been around since RGH was released. There are some refurb jaspers/zephyrs with 2 stage-boot CB that still are not RGH possible. Simply put now every console is updated like that. Im sure MS threw in some additional legwork as well to add to the mess.

looks like MS has changed gears. Im sure another new update will come out trying to screw with the drive flashes.. I think MS has given it their all though. Not much more they can really do on that side of things.

And adding to that, C4E focus is on LT firmwares, his logs refer to LT firmware and backups working as they should and ppl that play on LIVE are not affected by bans or flags.

There is still no guarantee that any LT firmware is Live-safe... MS could simply wait a couple of weeks or months before 'arming' the new checks... to ensure maximum carnage.

Indeed, I'm sure MS could nuke a few million consoles when ever they feel like it, considering they have not done a huge ban wave in over two years.

There probably not banning flashed consoles anymore, a banned console will still happily pirate away offline. At least if its online they can make some money from live, and other subscription services on live.

Agreed, nothing is ever safe.. but like I mentioned, it's his main focus and it's the reason why the question by TheGlow is irrelevant to the logs provided by C4E.
