hey guys, first post for a long time lurker smile.gif

anyways, to the point. i didnt trust myself on doing the MRA hack on my new jasper so i got one of those local idiots on craigslist to do it for me. well he messed it up bad. i cant tell if he shorted the board or burnt a trace but its not working. kid gave me a banned jtagged unit for it so i am happy with the end result but now i have a perfectly good jasper with a bad dvd drive.

anyway to replace the board or am i pretty much screwed since he never got the key off of the thing? i am currently just using it to play arcade games and a media player but it would be nice to get it working again.

Can you take any pics of the damage and post them here?


You should have done some research before paying someone who has no skills to do it for you.

We have a nice Modchip Installers / Firmware Flashers forum here that would have come in handy.

yeah i will get some pics but i am pretty sure the board is fried. i knew i should have just paid someone on here to do it but the kid was local and i thought it would be done in a few hours. i guess thats what i get for being impatient.

ok, here are the pics. i am no expert but it looks like the 101 pad is gone and i cant tell wtf he did on the front side or why he would have even have tried to solder something there.

i have no idea, it was handed back to me that way and the kid said he was sorry like 100 times. its obvious he failed the MRA hack but what i cant figure out is whats up with the front side so messed up. looks like he either tried to solder something on there or got too hot on the back and burned it through to the other side.

sent a pm on the repair job, no clue if its worth trying to save it.

thanks for all the help guys, its going to be shipped out to syntaxerror329 tomorrow and lets pray for the best. would love to get a free xbox out of the deal. this might actually work out in my favor since he is charging me about the same as the local kid would have.
