Hi all smile.gif

i want to replace the GPU ram cooling pads to these 4mm high heatsinks :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Akasa-AK-VMC01-BK-VG...1QQcmdZViewItem

I've ordered the X-clamp fix from ebay, And I wonder if 4mm are not a bit high....
Heard about the 8/12 penny fix, So I'm not really sure what is the perfect height for the ram heatsinks underneath the motherboard after x-clamp modification....

You help will be appreciated.

The space below the mainboard is 3mm(1 penny is 1mm) and it is questionable if the heatsinks are a good idea for the bottom ram.
Just leave the thermal pads there if you have them already they will do a better job because the air is not really circulating below the mainboard and due to the height you will have to cut holes into the metal case.
Get 2 heatsinks for the RAM on top and 1 for the Southbridge...

Thanks for the info.

So regarding the underneath rams, I'll use this :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ATI-Silencer-2-13x13x1...Q2em118Q2el1247

Will stick 2x1.5mm units which will give me the wanted 3mm of hight

i've also found these :
http://cgi.ebay.com/Thermal-Pads-15x12x3-5...Q2em118Q2el1247

Which are 3.5mm, But if material is soft, It might do a better job...What do you think ?
