I REALLY NEED SOME HELP WITH THIS MODCHIP AND MY XBOX. i BOUGHT A BRAND NEW XBOX LAST WEEK AND FINISHED INSTALLING THE MODCHIP BUT WHEN I PUT THE POWER PLUNG IN XBOX POWERS UP AOTU . AND IT FLASH RED LIGHT AND MY CD ROMS OPEN UP AND CLOSE FOR A MIN AND AFTER THAT RED FLAS STAY AND I COULD ONLY PLAY ORGINAL GAMES NOT BACKUP. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME....PLEASE!!!

ok... go to the tutorials and learn how to make a BIOS cd. Make one of EvoM7 (also see tutorials: mirc/xbins) and put it in when the dvd drive opens, and reflash your bios.

Make an EvoX dashboard CD via Craxtion and Nero, or use the Slayers 2.5 auto installer.

I think its too late now......???? I reinstall the modchip now it doesn't even flash red light but still my cd room opens and close auto!!!! I already tried crixton and made multi cds but didn't try evoX....now i am going to.

One more thing that my xbox flash in green now ................I really don't know what to do!!!!!!!!

Thinking about buying X-bit modchip that doesn't need any solder???

Still trying to fix by aladdin advance .......If any could help me ..please!!!!

When this post came out i used the pics to wire a few chips and used my matrix programmer to load a bios the pic that is up a few posts is not the same as the one that was posted before mabie because it is for a 1.6 board anyways if anyone has the pics that go with this thread please pm me i have paypal ready if needed thanks

If i were to take a working Cheapmod(or any other non-protected chip), boot from it, then pull the whole thing off the header PCB and all, swap in a blank one and flash, would this work?

or do i have to pull the SST out of the socket And pop a new one in?
