We got a Wii for x-mas. not my cup of tee, but you know how it goes. new toy must play smile.gif

I was looking at the drive key but apparently it wont work on the new d23? or the ne wnothing or something along those lines?

when I open the case I want to check the black chip. if its blank i'm no go for modchip?

I'm tempted to go softmod route. but I gather the newer drives won't allow dvd-r at all?

damn consoles smile.gif

Can anyone voice an opinion? I know I'm not really asking a question.

if you have high speed, get a usb hard drive and softmod it. go to http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-g...ny-4-2-wii.html youll need to register to see links and download stuff. its pretty straightforward, just follow the guide, i used it on mine. the new wiis wont play dvd backups or dvds in mplayer.
