My system is using 2.0.13141.0 but when I put in a Kinect game it tells me I need an update - my dashboard should be adequate so I'm not sure what the problem is. All other new games work fine just not these Kinect games. I don't think I installed the Avatar thing, not sure if I need that or not ... if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

You need to install the corresponding system update onto your hard drive.

You mean the update on the disc? Won't that mess up my jtag? I was always told never to update off the disc when using the jtag so I just want to be sure before I do anything .. if you don't mind being a bit more specific.

thanks!

You need to install the system update that corresponds to your dashboard version (which in your case is 13141). This system update can come from a game disc, but most people download the system update and install from a USB drive. Do NOT install a system update that's higher than your dashboard version or you will kill your JTAG. At this point, you might as well update your JTAG to 14699 and then install the 14699 system update.

OK thank you - I think I understand now ... so if I updated my dashboard to 14699 I can then just use the disc to do the system update right? I figure that'd just make it easier than trying to search for it online (unless you have a link you can PM me).

Thanks again for the help!

OK So I installed the dashboard for 14699 correctly - then downloaded the system update, but it says my system is already up to date and won't do anything.. problem is when I tried to pop in Dance Central, it's still telling me I need an update .. what update could it be asking for?
