The pen trick worked for me. Try this tho...
After you get each of the screws out, dremel a slot in the top so that you can later use a standard screwdriver to put your cube back together. That way you only have to do the pen trick once and then never again.
Either that or find a screw which matches up size and threading and just replace the whole thing.
This will make your life much easier for when you try to put it back together, and inevitably apart again...

That's exactly what I was going to say. I couldnt find any cut off wheels, so I used a hacksaw, which worked fine. Using the bic pen to take out the screws is fine, but don't plan on putting them back in with it
