New Halo 1 Modding Tool: Arsenic Beta

From halomaps.com:
[QUOTE]
This program is pretty much all your going to need when it comes to modding Halo.

Arsenic's hardcore power ranges from its visually stunning graphics to its built in game and tag editor. You can chose anything within a map such as scenery, weapons, vehicles, etc... and hot swap on the drop of a dime.

Duplication is now made easy with our new point and click system. Any object you wish to move in Arsenic will move and suck to the mesh or structure of your map, this will save you a lot of time when placing stuff in your environment.

Our built in tag editor is amazing and simple to use, for example click on a warthog then chose the tag editor. You will be able to edit a wide range of physics right on the spot, all changes will take effect when you save your map.

Arsenic has a built in Auto Update feature which will be a life savor when future updates are released. All updates will come from halomaps.com so anyone using this program will always have an up-to-date version. The updates will automatically be applied when you open up Arsenic.

As of right now the beta release will be structured around modding Xbox maps and tags. What you can expect in the near future from us...
* Built-in FTP (uploading maps to your Xbox)
* Halo CE Map Editing
* Load Compressed Xbox Maps
* Scripting, etc...

It's a shame you can't do things like this for Rainbow Six Vegas Two.
That Would Be Awesome.Like Never Run Out Of Amo,Or You Can Take More Damage Before Dying.lol

Im glad to see people still working on stuff like this. Halo 1 is one of the harder games to do things like this in because of the map file structures. I just wish the project like this for Halo 2 wasnt scrapped years ago. It was looking just as promising as this.
And with a built inf FTP server... will save so much time.
Hopefully there will be a flood of people playing this on KAI and xbox connect.

huh.gif I remember the Halo 2 version of this kind of project was being worked on a couple of years ago. I wonder what it was called? Good to see this kind of modding still existing. Nice point about the no Halo modding discussion... wonder how this affects the rules? LOL huh.gif

Halo 1 was the best one for shure. The weapons, timing, vehicle settings and gameplay is still unmached IMO. It took teamplay and skill to win. So many other FPS are still all run and gun. No other FPS has the feel H1 had. I love the Halo games but the multiplayer part seemed to speed up and become more run and gun with dual weapons and faster vehicles. Halo 1 was aiming and skill with the nades, especialy the sticky one. I played the PC version mostly as I loved the online play and joystick is just not for me. I still am upset about how they handled the switch to allow custom maps. They split the community and left many map makers with no players to play them. So many great moments online....ahhh those were the days.

Think you're thinking of Prometheus. Not sure what happened to it, guess the whole thing was a load of BS. Shame, because its announcements pretty much killed any other serious Halo editing programs at the time - everyone figured they'd just wait until Prometheus came out.
