What you need to check is just above where the key is showning the toolbox will show you what location the key is stored in. "Key Information"
That is the important thing the location of the key "Key Information"
Then there will be a option to make an original firmware somewhere. Looks like Tools, Recover Lost Original File.
For example my Key Information is stored at @4C30, another location is @4B00 and there are two more locations as well
Just make sure the drive you want to restore you also chose the same Key Information when recovering the original or you will brick it
Ok, here is what I did:
- Yesterday I connected the drive, and did the dump, and I got the file "current.bin"
- Today, with the info you gave me, I opened up that file, noticed that it said @4B00, and went to:
Tools --> Recover Lost Original File
It told me it could take some time for analysis, blah blagh, and that a window would open to indicate where to save. I started the proces, and then when it finished, I chose "original.bin" to save in a dir.
- when I open up this file, it show the same key, at the same location @4B00
I this supposed to now be a valid original.bin file for my drive, and I can do the process as indicated in the tutorial? (To either restore first, or not) ?
Thanx!
