I got a hacked xbox from my friend and i wanted it like new. So i formatted all the drives. Everything worked fine except the MSdashboard, so i renamed the xboxdashboard to MSdashboard and now i cant boot to the dashboard at all. I can boot games fine but everytime i try to boot to the dashboard it gives me error 13, contact customer support.

Get a recent live enabled game - Halo 2 and Doom 3 definitely work (I've used them both), and Pro Evolution Soccer 4, Need For Speed Most Wanted, and Goldeneye Rogue Agent should work (Live enabled, 2004 or later). And Topspin would seem to work as well. Just cold boot the game, then attempt to log on to live (you don't need to be connected to the network), the first thing the game will do is check your dash version and update it to the latest version if necessary. Once you're at the live dash you can stop and reboot the Xbox. Your Xbox should be back to stock.

i went to xbox live for halo and it said start troubleshooter and i click it and i get error 21 it makes me angry i also tried stars wars commando platinum addition and when i went to create a live account it brings up error 21
