I recently got banned from xbox live and obtained a new eeprom. I flashed the new eeprom without remembering to change the password of my hdd to match. I have the passwords for both eeproms and my hdd. I have tried HDDUnlock on my pc but without success. Are there any other programs that can unlock a hdd without a bootable xbox??

does configmagic run on pc?? I have been booting in dos with a floppy and running hddunlock without success. The problem is that my pc doesnt recognise the hdd in windows due to its fatx format sad.gif

ive got configmagic for xbox. Where can i get a copy of configmagic for pc?? it doesnt appear to be in the usual places/ ohmy.gif

Liveinfo beta2 should work, it runs from windows and need the locked hd attached and the eeprom.bin. It doesn't work on new moherboards, maybe because of ata133 but i didn't investigate.

Can't you boot from an evox CD?
Then just use configmagic from there.

Does anyone know where there is a turtoral about opening and locked hard drive without a bootable XBox. I have the hard drive key for my WD80EB. I now need to know how to access it with my pc.

Last time I checked configmagic is not available for PC, and Liveinfo can only give you the hdd key - it can't actually lock or unlock the drive.

Reinstalling from CD will not work either - you have to unlock the drive first.

Since HDDUnlock isnt working for you, try UNLockX - it is another PC (DOS) application which can unlock and remove the password. When I used UNLockX, I had to run it twice in succession. The first time it reported it failed, but it actually did unlock the drive, the second time it removed the password protection and reported that it succeded.

Thanks, i think the hdd is screwed. I used a mayes xbox to reinstate my original eeprom and am using my xbox oem drive with no problems. Even works with new eeprom locked! I think that something has happened to my hdd at some point? sad.gif Wont do anything on any xbox! At least my xbox is not stuffed! I'm just up for another hdd. Might have to go for a big one biggrin.gif If anyone has any more thoughts on how to unlock the drive they are more than welcome cos i want to at least get all my savegames back. (Forgot to back it all off to my pc!)

you cant run that in windows command prompt.. you have to make a bootable dos floppy.. once you boot directly into DOS .. then you can run the unlock program smile.gif
