I just ordered a new MB for my X-Box, but when I recieved it, a capicitor was broken off. They want me to pay shipping back so they can replace it, but I found it works without the capcitor. I bought a new capacitor just in case so I can replace it.

Well I'd rather not solder anything right now, so is there any possible way that not having one of those capicitors could kill my system? I know that it might make it unstable, but I want to make sure it won't fry anything.

if the cap was off when you brought it, send it back, their cost

consumer rights state that you should bear no cost for defective products

request a pre-paid envelope or something
