Just a question, but out of 50+ years of movies, why choose movies that have been made in the past few years?
Probably because older films dont appeal to the younger generations, the youngins just dont understand the ideas of the 70's or before those times. Hence since they dont understand, it just isnt as fun for them as newer films.
Not to mention the fact that technology is better now and that sways some peoples vote.
My fav movie of all time is Fight Club.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
I think best movie would be hard to define for most people, but I know what I consider SOME of the best.
My choices: Lord of the Rings Trilogy (I'm glad they waited till special effects could do the books justice) Alien (Survival Horror at it's best, and the only survivor was female, unheard of in most movies back then) Godfather's I and II (I could have pulled a better part III out of my ass) Braveheart
