Fastest FTP Speed, FTP-XBOX Using MXM Options

hey i remember this post, anyway yeah i found out it was a speed reading error i was using a ftp client that was in beta. i switched about 2 weeks later to flashfxp and it was working at 8.

I believe your transfer speed more based on how ur network is setup than what dash u are using. I get about about 1.2 MBps with my 10 mbps / 100 mbps hub, but I have to setup a VPN (which is a pain to do everytime). Without a VPN, I get about 14 kbps, heh. I really all depends on the speed of ur network card, hub/router, ur cable (Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6), and the xbox network card maybe limited to a certain speed(??). Anyway thats my 2 cents.

Dude you need to upgrade to 10/100 if your're getting just 1MB/s. I get 7-8MB/s all the time.
Just a simple 10/100 Nic and Crossover cable will get you going for under $10.

Crossover cable pluged into my PC directly
Simple NIC 10/100 10$
10 BaseT Full duplex
Win XP Pro
Cute FTPFlash FXP

I get around 1.2 mbitsec
....Im lying, ive already touched 1.8

Is this suposed to be fine?

No something is very wrong you should be getting 4-5 times that speed. You should not have 10Base T you should have 100Base T, Full Duplex if possible.

thats impossible

a 100mbit lan can not run that fast,, its just impossible.

ok not imposible,, well yes impossible.. 5mbit per socond is on par for a 100mbit lan

i can get 8meg + with evox and i have nmo clue how they do it.

but 15 ?? i find that hard to believe.

sorry for my skepticiscm but do the math and read about tcp protocals and speed. 15 meg per second is just not happening.

i would say its a speed reading error.

and if it IS actually going that fast then the people who wrote the code need to be working for M$ or cisco or something and start making new windows protocals and nic cards that run that fast


and i only get about 6 meg with mxm

I've found that Evox tranfers faster since I use MXM dashes with animation usually.

I switch over to Evox before I start a transfer.

I've found that when I eject the XBOX DVD Drive drawer and put my THINGY in it... while shoving the DVD DONGLE up my BUNGHOLE... I can average a transfere speed of 100 MEGABYTES per second.

NOT SHIT man... try it.. it really works...
