I have the original xbox with a Thompson drive. I have a Nec 1000A
DVD+RW burner in my computer. It will not burn a -r.

1) Can I burn Dvd+r on it?

2) Is there any particular software needed?

3) Which Dvd's should be use?

4) Will the Thompson recognize it or will I have to swap the drives?

Thanks for any replies and info.

1, Yes you can,

2, Just create your iso as shown in one of the tutorials and burn with nero,

3, Use top quality dvd+r for best performance,

4, Think the thompson will reconise it but im not certian best way to find out is just to test.

I've got the NEC 1100 version of that dvd burner (burns + format) and a Samsung drive in my xbox. I use Ritek white top (purple dye.) disc's and have never had a bad burn. Also I never burn the games in ISO format (doesnt work for me). When I FTP the game to my PC I use Nero and burn it using the UDF option (remember to check the checkbox that allows xbox compatibility).
The above disc's should work in a Thompon no problem.
