The card I want is AGP 8x but my motherboard is 1x, 2x, and 4x. Will it run on my PC, even it if it runs at 4x not 8x?

Be careful as i have heard of cases that when an 8x card is inserted into an 4x agp slot that the card and or motherboard are stuffed
